The time has finally arrived, and the stage is set for the 2015 GC Summit: The first-ever regional gathering of CEE-based Heads of Legal and General Counsel across all industries for professional development, best practice review, and top level networking among peers.
The countdown clock on the event website is on its last few hours, the brochures and name tags are printed, the dinner menus are selected, the conference rooms and staff at the Sofitel in Budapest are ready, the speakers are primed, delegates are checking into their hotels, and the hosts and organizers are in their final frenzy of preparation.
The Sponsors of the GC Summit — the Wolf Theiss, Gide Loyrette Nouel, and Schoenherr law firms — are ready to go. The keynote speakers for the event — the General Counsel of the European Bank of Development and the Vice President and General Counsel of MOL — are ready to go. Other speakers, including the VP General Counsel Compliance Officer at UPC Hungary, the General Counsel, Deputy CEO at Invitel, the General Counsel at CEE Equity Partners, the General Counsel of the TVN Group, and the Head Of Legal at Turk Telekom International, are ready to go. The event staff is ready to go. Everybody’s ready to go.
But it’s impossible to be in two places at once, and as the editors of CEE Legal Matters website will be coordinating, registering, escorting, moderating, introducing, and managing the GC Summit, we won’t be able to update the site often for the next two days. We hope our readers will understand and forgive the slow-down, and rest assured: it’s only for two days, and we’ll be back at full speed on Monday, September 14, with more news and updates from around CEE than you can shake a stick at.
For those who are in Budapest for the event, or who are on their final descent into Liszt Ferenc Airport as this is being published: Welcome! We’re ready for you, and we’re excited to have you join us.
