Schoenherr has advised Kabelplus on the acquisition of Speed Connect Austria.
Kabelplus is a cable network operator and multimedia service provider, and a wholly owned subsidiary of EVN AG. The company provides cable TV, internet, landline, and mobile services, as well as business solutions, primarily in Lower Austria and Burgenland.
According to Schoenherr, the transaction strengthens Kabelplus’s position in the Austrian telecommunications market and supports the further expansion of future-proof fibre optic infrastructure, particularly in rural regions. Speed Connect Austria builds and operates fibre optic networks outside Austria’s urban centres, focusing on improving digital connectivity for municipalities and smaller communities.
