Schoenherr has advised Raiffeisen Bank International and UniCredit Bulbank as lenders on the project financing of a battery energy storage system to be developed in Bulgaria as part of the Verila Solar Park 2 project.
According to Schoenherr, the financing supports the development, construction, and operation of a new BESS with a capacity of approximately 360 megawatt-hours in Dupnitsa, Kyustendil District, owned and developed by 360 Energy. The battery system will operate alongside Bulgaria’s largest solar power plant, with an installed capacity of 124 megawatts, and is intended to enhance grid flexibility and facilitate greater integration of renewable energy into the national power system.
The Schoenherr team included Partners Attila Csongrady and Tsvetan Krumov, Counsel Peter Redo, Senior Attorney at Law Kristina Lyubenova, and Associate Ana Komsalova.
Schoenherr did not respond to our inquiry on the matter.
