Merlin Liis-Toomela, Rutt Vark, and Alla Kuznetsova have been promoted to Associate Partners at Ellex in Estonia.
Liis-Toomela is the firm's Head of Data Protection and IP law. She has been with Ellex since 2017, when she joined as an Attorney at Law, and was promoted to Counsel in 2025. Earlier, she worked for Eversheds Sutherland as a Lawyer from 2014 to 2017.
Vark focuses her work on M&A. She has been with Ellex since 2021, when she re-joined as a Counsel, having worked for the firm earlier as a Senior Associate from 2018 to 2019. Earlier, she worked for PwC Legal as its Head of M&A from 2019 to 2021, as well as for Primus as a Senior Associate from 2011 to 2017. Earlier still, she worked for Lawin as an Associate from 2008 to 2011.
Kuznetsova, who focuses on corporate and M&A, has been with the firm since 2011, when she joined as a Lawyer. Earlier, she worked for Glimstedt as a Lawyer from 2010 to 2011. Earlier still, she worked for the Estonian Ministry of Justice as a Legal Advisor from 2008 to 2010.
