Former Estonian Supreme Court Justice Urmas Volens has rejoined Nove.

Volens, one of the co-founders of Nove, rejoins the firm after spending five years at the Estonian Supreme Court. According to Nove, Volens will focus primarily on real estate, property, and corporate law as well as on government relations, policy development, and research.

Volens co-founded Nove in 2016, where he worked as a Partner until 2020, when he joined the Estonian Supreme Court. Earlier, he worked for Sorainen as a Specialist Counsel from 2010 to 2016. Earlier still, he worked for the Estonian Ministry of Justice in various positions from 1998 to 2009.

“Urmas is one of Nove's founders and has made a significant contribution to the firm’s development," commented co-founder Kristjan Tamm. "He is one of Estonia’s leading experts in private law, with long-standing professional experience as a public official, Attorney at Law, lecturer in law, and Supreme Court justice. His return brings a strong addition to Nove's expertise.”

“Returning to Nove is a great opportunity for me to focus on the fields of law where I am strongest: property law and real estate, contracts, and corporate law,” Volens added. “I hope that my knowledge and experience will help further develop Nove’s real estate law practice and contribute to the growth of Estonia’s best law firm and the strengthening of its team.”
