Oppenheim has announced that Founding Partner Ulrike Elisabeth Rein has passed away.
"It is with deep sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of our founding partner, Ulrike Elisabeth Rein, on September 14, 2025," the firm stated." Ulla studied law at the University of Vienna, where she graduated as a dr. iuris in 1984. In the following years, she worked at various courts in Vienna. From 1985 to 1987, she was an assistant professor at the Department of Constitutional and Administrative Law at the University of Vienna. From 1987 to 1997, she worked as an Attorney at the Vienna law firm Heller Loeber Bahn & Partners and became a Partner in 1992. From 1989, she also worked at the Budapest office of Heller Loeber Bahn & Partners, which was one of the predecessors of today's Oppenheim. From 1998 to 2000, Ulla was a Partner at the international law firm Bruckhaus Westrick Heller Loeber, and from 2000 to 2007, she was a partner at the international law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, where she acted as head of the Budapest office as well."
