Polish law firm Instytut Prawa Konkurencji lawyers Monika Bychowska, Maria Mrowka, and Elzbieta Witkowska-Grochowalska have joined Gessel.
According to Gessel, the new lawyers have joined the competition and consumer law team led by Partner Bernadeta Kasztelan-Swietlik. "The new team members bring many years of experience gained both at the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection, and at Instytut Prawa Konkurencji, a boutique outfit cofounded by them after leaving the former."
Bychowska, Mrowka, and Witkowska-Grochowalska worked for Instytut Prawa Konkurencji from 2009 to 2026. Earlier, all three worked for the Polish Office of Competition and Consumer Protection; Bychowska from 1998 to 2009, Mrowka from 1996 to 2009, and Witkowska-Grochowalska from 1998 to 2009.
“The inbound transfer of three highly experienced and market-recognized experts means that the team led by Bernadeta Kasztelan-Swietlik, formerly a long-standing Vice President of UOKiK, has become one of the strongest competition and consumer law practices on the Polish market," commented Managing Partner Marcin Macieszczak. "This move also strengthens our transactional support, demand for which has been growing significantly."
