RTPR Allen & Overy in Bucharest and Allen & Overy in Bratislava have advised a syndicate of banks in relation to a USD 68 million credit facility granted to Romania's Alro Slatina. Zamfirescu Racoti & Partners advised Alro on the deal.
The syndicate of banks consisted of Raiffeisen Bank International and Raiffeisen Bank Romania as coordinators and Raiffeisen Bank International, Banca Transilvania, UniCredit Bank, Garanti Bank, and Intesa SanPaolo Romania.
Alro, which was established in 1961, is part of an integrated group that produces aluminum. Its shares are traded on the Bucharest Stock Exchange. According to Allen & Overy, the loan will cover the company's general corporate needs and working capital as well as future investments.
The RTPR Allen & Overy team provided advice on Romanian law and included Partner Alexandru Retevoescu, Counsel Poliana Gogu-Naum, and Associate Alexandru Coras. The Allen & Overy Bratislava team provided advice on the English law aspects of the financing and was led by Counsel Attila Csongrady, supported by Senior Associate Peter Redo and Lawyer Petra Dzubakova.
