RTPR Allen & Overy has advise the Enterprise Investors private equity fund on the sale of the Profi Rom Food – the largest supermarket chain in Romania – to Mid Europa Partners. Dechert and Bondoc & Asociatii advised the buyers on the deal, which is reportedly the largest deal ever completed by a private equity fund in Romania and the largest deal in the retail sector in the country’s history. The transaction remains subject to approval by Romania's Competition Counsel.
The RTPR Allen & Overy team was led by Managing Partner Costin Taracila, assisted by Counsels Roxana Ionescu and Alina Stavaru and Associates Andrei Mihul and Laurentiu Tisescu as well as – the firm reports – "a numerous team of lawyers who assisted on the due diligence process and transaction documents."
Sebastian Krol, the Enterprise Investors partner responsible for the investment, said: "I truly appreciate Costin's and his team support, contribution and hard work. RTPR Allen & Overy was also involved in the acquisition of Profi supermarket chain by Enterprise Investors, on the seller’s side at the time.
