CMS has successfully represented Slovakian renewable energy investors Alpha Solar Group and Alpha Solar Invest in a case against the Bulgarian state regarding the recovery of cut feed-in tariffs for operational photovoltaic plants in Bulgaria.
According to CMS, “the first instance litigation cases were won before the Sofia City Court in April 2023 and, in a rare move following the streamlined court practice, the Bulgarian Ministry of Finance decided to avoid any additional prolongation and damages for the Bulgarian state, and proceeded with the payment of the damages, interest, and legal fees in full.”
The CMS team included Managing Partner Kostadin Sirleshtov, Counsel Borislava Piperkova, and Senior Associate Elena Yotova-Yordanova.
