Albota Law Firm has advised OX2 on the construction contracts with two undisclosed contractors of the company's first wind farm in Romania as well as on permitting and regulatory matters.
Vestas announced on August 8, 2024, that it will deliver 16 V162 6.2-megawatt wind turbines to OX2. The order also includes supply, delivery, and commissioning of the turbines.
The 99.2-megawatt project was recently sold to Nala Renewables in a deal valued at EUR 214 million (as reported by CEE Legal Matter on August 8, 2024).
Upon completion, Vestas will service the turbines under a 35-year Active Output Management 5000 service agreement designed to ensure optimized performance of the assets. "We are thrilled to announce this project which is a testament to the successful collaboration we have fostered with our partner OX2 over almost two decades," commented Vestas Sales Director for South-East Europe Taras Kachmarchuk. "This collaboration has delivered impactful wind energy projects in numerous countries across the Nordics and Europe. This project in Romania’s revitalized market brings our capacity of wind turbines either installed or under construction in Romania to more than 1.5 gigawatts."
"We are proud to be by the side of OX2 and to have assisted them with the development of this project," commented Albota Law Firm Partner Oana Albota. "It is a great satisfaction for us to witness the success of OX2 on the Romanian market and the success of this remarkable project that contributes to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. We would also like to thank the entire OX2 team for their professional and constructive approach throughout the negotiations."
The Albota Law Firm team was coordinated by Albota and included Senior Associate Andreea Ciobanu and Bogdan Roscaniuc and Associates Miruna Pioara.
