Sorainen has advised Activate Capital on its investment in Aerones as part of a USD 62 million round. Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo reportedly advised Activate Capital as well.
The round also saw the participation of 2G Investments, Carbon Equity, and Overlap Holdings as well as existing backers including Lightrock, Blume Equity, Metaplanet, Change Ventures, and Extantia.
Aerones is a Latvia-based provider of robotic inspection, maintenance, and AI-driven solutions for wind turbines. According to Sorainen, the capital raised will support Aerones’ market expansion, the advancement of AI and robotics R&D, and the scaling of manufacturing and services within the wind energy sector.
The Sorainen team included Managing Partner Eva Berlaus, Senior Associates Zanda Frisfelde, Santa Praulina, and Maris Simulis, and Associate Alise Igale.
