MPR Partners has advised EnPower Energy on the development and sale of a 60-megawatt photovoltaic project near Ovidiu, Romania, to Israel's Econergy International.
The project will cover an area of 100 hectares. It was developed by EnPower Energy and, after obtaining the zoning permit and technical connection approval, was acquired by Econergy International. The EnPower Energy team will continue the coordination until the construction permit is obtained and the project is commissioned, MPR Partners reported.
For Israeli investor Econergy International, the acquisition is part of its expansion strategy in Romania, where it owns projects with a combined capacity of 1.5 gigawatts. The company is part of Econergy Renewable Energy, based in Israel, with operations in Romania, Italy, Greece, Poland, Spain, and the UK.
The MPR Partners team was led by Founding Partner Gelu Maravela and Partner Dana Radulescu and consisted of eight lawyers.
MPR Partners could not provide further information on the deal.
