Suciu Popa has announced it is rebranding as Suciu Partners following former Partner Luminita Popa's departure. Founding Partners Cleopatra Leahu and Dan Ciobanu were appointed as Deputy Managing Partners alongside Managing Partner Miruna Suciu. The firm also appointed Partner Mihai Caragui as its new leader of the corporate and advisory departments, Partner Radu Chiran – as its new coordinator of the litigation and arbitration practices, and promoted Noemi Siman to Partner.
According to Suciu Partners, the new brand "highlights the values that defined [them] from the very beginning and which have been distilled together over the eight years of [the] firm’s existence: true partnership and unwavering dedication, contributed by each of [them], for the benefit of the legal services market and [their] clients, whom [they] serve moment by moment, hour by hour, 365 days a year."
Both Leahu and Ciobanu have been with the firm since its inception. Prior to their co-founding of the firm in 2016, Leahu was a Partner and Ciobanu was a Managing Associate with Musat & Asociatii.
Caragui joined the team in 2016 as an Associate. He was promoted to Senior Associate in 2018 and to Managing Associate in March 2021, ultimately making Partner in October 2021. He joined from Badita & Pop where he was a Lawyer between 2014 and 2016.
Chiran joined the firm in April 2019 as a Senior Associate. He was promoted to Managing Associate in November 2019 and made Partner in 2021. Before joining the firm he was a Litigation Associate with Tuca Zbarcea & Asociatii between 2018 and 2019. Earlier still, he was an Associate between 2016 and 2018 and a Junior Associate between 2013 and 2016 with NNDKP.
Focusing on energy and natural resources, real estate, and competition/FDI, Siman joined the team in June 2021 as an Associate and was promoted to Senior Associate in September 2021 and to Managing Associate in 2022. Before that, she was an Associate with NNDKP between 2018 and 2021.
The firm further announced the promotions of Radu Petroi and Roxana Ioncu to Counsels and of Paul Manaila and Gianina Istrate to Managing Associates as well as the hires of Daliana Popa as a Managing Associate, Andrei Ivan as a Senior Associate, and Mihai Eduard Gingu as an Associate.
